About Legacy

Hi! I'm the person behind Legacy, writing this from my little corner of Norway with my two cats probably judging me from across the room.

What Legacy Is

Legacy is a fantasy name generator that tries to create names that sound like they belong in fantasy worlds, instead of just mashing random syllables together. It generates names for different fantasy races and follows some basic linguistic rules so you (hopefully) don't end up with unpronounceable disasters.

It's built for writers, gamers, and anyone who gets stuck on character names.

Why I'm Building It

I work a regular job, but prefer building things that matter to me. I love fantasy worlds and games, and this felt like a fun, manageable way to start creating something in that space.

Really though, this is just one piece of a much larger puzzle. I have bigger visions brewing, but a name generator is a simpler place to start learning and building the foundation for whatever comes next.

Work in Progress

This is very much a learning project. Some features work better than others, some experiments don't pan out, and there are definitely rough edges. But that's part of the process.
